We are proud that our researchers from the EssilorLuxottica Smart Eyewear Lab continue to contribute to advancing scientific dialogue at leading international conferences. At #ETRA in Tokyo, Japan – the premier event on eye-tracking research – our scientists recently presented ongoing efforts in developing on energy-efficient, low-power wearable eye trackers designed for real-life scenarios. During #IJCNN in Rome, Italy, we organized the first edition of the "Eyes of the Future: Integrating AI in Smart Eyewear" workshop. Together with global academic and industrial partners, we explored how computer vision and eye tracking with real-time processing can converge to create more intuitive, adaptive, and context-aware wearables. Finally, at #Plasmonica in Modena, Italy, EssilorLuxottica and the Smart Eyewear Lab sponsored a special session on meta surfaces for smart vision and imaging: a promising technology paving the way for next-generation smart eyewear. The 2nd International Myopia Society (IMS) Meeting in Singapore brought together the global myopia community, and we were honoured to contribute as Gold Sponsor in advancing the science that supports early, effective and holistic myopia management. We are pleased to announce we have signed an agreement with the South Korean company PUcore for the acquisition of all its assets and entities involved in the development, manufacturing and sale of monomers used in the production of high index ophthalmic lenses. The acquisition will enhance the Group’s R&D and production capabilities for the manufacturing of innovative high index, thinner and lighter ophthalmic lenses, and ensure long term sustainable sourcing.
